Thesis 95, ‘Brundage Lodge’
A passion for winter sports and traditional craftsmanship drove the design of this proposed Ski Lodge for Brundage Mountain Ski Resort. Traditional wood detailing and simple gabled forms were inspired by travels through the Alps Region. 1995

Produced for the State Parks Commission, this year-round shelter was designed for ease of construction by local unskilled volunteers. The location is hike-in access only and offers a commanding view of WA, OR and Idaho and is frequented by hikers and cross country skiers in search of this reclusive destination. 2000
Thesis 97, ‘Stones that Speak’
Celtic stone ruins, traditional Japanese craftsmanship and Native American Architecture were the inspiration behind this eclectic blend of form and philosophy as a wilderness retreat gives testament to its natural environment. The structure is mirrored by both youthful adventure and the inevitable return to nature’s infinity. Intended to be discovered long after its useful life, the stone structure provides physical and spiritual insight through placement, access and orientation to the mindful discoverer. 1997
